Peer Specialist (Non-Gender Specific)
Peer Specialist are Veterans who are part of an interdisciplinary team, assist physicians and other personnel in rehabilitation treatment programs. They perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that include assisting Veterans articulating goals for recovery, personal wellness, learning and practicing new skills, helping monitor their progress, assist in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the one's own recovery experience.
