Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute (OHNI) at South Lake Hospital is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible neurohospitalist to join our multidisciplinary neuroscience team in Clermont, Florida. This inpatient-focused neurology position provides acute neurological care within our Primary Stroke Center while integrating with the broader OHNI network of over 45 physicians across multiple subspecialties.

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, Clermont, Florida (Lake County), is a full-service acute care hospital serving the community for over 75 years, with nearby outpatient neuroscience services at the OHNI Clermont clinic.
Inpatient Neurology Consultation
Provide timely neurology consults for hospitalist services, ICU, emergency department, and surgical teams
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for new neurological symptoms
Manage hospitalized patients with stroke, seizures, acute headache, encephalopathy, neuromuscular crises, and other urgent neurological conditions
Follow patients through step-down and floor units after ICU or emergency care
Multidisciplinary Team Model
Collaborate with neurosurgeons, rehab specialists, dedicated neuroscience nursing teams, and advanced practice providers
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with hospitalists, ICU teams, emergency physicians, and therapy staff
Access to system-wide neuroscience resources and subspecialty expertise across the Orlando Health network
Required
MD or DO degree
Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology
Current medical license or ability to obtain Florida licensure
Experience or strong interest in acute stroke care and inpatient neurology
Preferred
Vascular Neurology fellowship or additional stroke training
Experience with telestroke or rapid stroke response protocols
Familiarity with Primary Stroke Center metrics and quality initiatives

The program also has earned Joint Commission core certification in spine surgery and partners with Orlando Health Cancer Institute in a neuro-oncology/brain and spine tumor program.
In addition to clinical excellence, the institute maintains a strong focus on research and education, with a robust research program supporting participation in ongoing studies and clinical trials to improve outcomes and an established neurology residency program and future neurosurgery residency program.
The institute offers both inpatient and outpatient services and more than 10 practice locations across Central Florida. A planned state-of-the-art facility anticipated to open in 2024 will be the new home of Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute, serving patients throughout the southeastern United States.
