Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities include serving as the Director of the PhD programin Rehabilitation Sciences (RS), chairing and serving on dissertation committees, graduate course instruction, junior faculty and graduate student mentoring, and maintaining an extramurally funded research program.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 70% effort to research, with expectations to develop and sustain an externally funded research program aligned with the Department’s mission and NIH or equivalent funding priorities.
Position will contribute to the strategic growth of RS research within OU Health’s integrated academic medical system and advance the RS PhD program through leadership, mentoring, and development of externally funded collaborative research
Research/Scholarship:
Maintain an organized, viable, and funded research program using internal and external collaborations and resources.
Maintain a consistent record of research dissemination activities to include publications and presentations through local, national, and international opportunities.
Mentor professional and post-professional students, junior faculty in research activities
Required Qualifications:
PhD in rehabilitation science or a related discipline (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy, gerontology, nursing, movement science, kinesiology, neuroscience, public health, or other fields relevant to rehabilitation).
Current experience as Principal Investigator on grants
Teaching experience in graduate programs
Evidence of successful mentoring of PhD students, MS students, and/or post-doctoral scholars.
Experience in program development or administration, such as directing graduate programs or leading curriculum initiatives.
Current or recently funded by NIH R01 or equivalent mechanism.
Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration
