Overview
St. Luke's Health System is curently recruiting for a Director of Nursing for our brand new St. Luke's Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine (COSM) opening late October of 2023 in Boise, Idaho. COSM will be a will be a comprehensive musculoskeletal outpatient care center unlike any other in the Treasure Valley. The facility will offer accessible and affordable care for patients anchored to movement and function.
The new site will bring together several disparate St. Luke's sites in the downtown Boise area, including the Orthopedic Urgent Care, Imaging and Lab services on Americana Blvd., our Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation locations on Myrtle St., and the Orthopedic Surgery Center on River St., creating a one-stop shop for all aspects of orthopedic patient care. The goal is to provide an innovative and uniquely inspiring, hospitality-driven environment for those we serve.
We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center Leader who is proactive, collaborative, solutions driven with excellent communication skills. To be successful, you will need to be employee and patient-focused while ensuring quality and safety in the OR are a top priority. This individual will be responsible for achieving the performance metrics for perioperative services and will work within a triad that includes an Orthopedic Surgeon leader and an Anesthesia Leader. Responsibilities
Provides clinical and professional oversight for areas of accountability, and supports strategic priorities within established guidelines.
Participates in developing the operating units plan for recruitment and retention of nursing resources.
Develops operational plan in collaboration with each deparment's manager, for goals, measures and targets in alignment with overall goals of the organization. Assists in the preparation and submission of annual operating budget.
Mentors Nursing Manager in development of leadership skills, fiscally accountable staffing/scheduling practices, professional development of staff and outcomes based practice. Builds trust with nursing team through visibility.
Collaborates with leadership and staff to promote the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient care and ensure standards of best practice are followed.
Utilizes evidence to implement clinical changes and the delivery of patient centered care.
Initiates and fostesr continuous improvement within departments. Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues and complaints.
Ensures compliance with regulations governing hospitals/area/service and practice/area/ service. Ensure that policy, procedures and standards are developed, implemented and maintained.
Translates SLHS stratigies and initiatives into daily operations.
Communicates program priorities, policies, and procedures as it relates to the strategic growth to clinical and SLHS leadership.
Participates in established and maintaining communication between ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors' degree in nursingis required, Masters degree preferred
- Experience: 10 years of relevant RN experience is required to be considered. Leadership experience in an outpatient ambulatory surgery center is highly preferred. RN and or leadership experience in Orthopedics is also highly preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: RN license in state of practice
