Learn more This position serves as a Psychologist Program Manager over Mental Health Recovery four (4) Programming and Transformation (also known as LRC Program manager) at the McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA. This position includes significant broad program management responsibilities which include supervisor duties of Peer Support Specialists, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures directly related to the transition of VHA from maintenance models of mental health treatment into a recovery-oriented system of care. Major duties include: Serves as expert on the incorporation of Psychiatric Rehabilitation best practices and the implementation of VHA Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery initiatives for MH& BS Ensures the full range of recovery-oriented services are available to Veterans and their families, either at their local VA Medical Center or via community agreements. Monitors outcomes of these recovery-oriented practices using a data-driven quality assurance process that focuses on implementation and sustainment of efficacious practices. Serves as Coordinator of Recovery Programming for MH& BS which includes oversight of administrative and programmatic resources associated with the VA's mission to build healthy communities for Veterans and their families via active collaboration and coordination with partners in the community. Employs community mapping and development which provides the MHS with extensive knowledge of their community, including the identification of opportunities, resources, and potential barriers. Promotes awareness and utilization of VA mental health resources, helps Veterans gain access to services, has ready access to information about eligibility and available clinical services, ensures warm handoffs at critical points of transition between systems of care, and provides ongoing liaison between MH&BS and community partners. Represents MH&BS and actively engages in community-based councils and task forces which requires an extensive knowledge of the system and a high degree of professionalism. Teaches, models and champions recovery-oriented services and principles. Applies knowledge of psychotherapy and treatment planning procedures that enhance patient centered care. Manages and directs the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives, and ability to devise ways to adapt work operations to new and changing programs, staffing, and budget requirements, etc. Coordinates the efforts of multiple program elements across a complex system. Translates management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations.
