The VA Palo Alto Health Care System, is currently recruiting for a Clinical Psychologist in their Polytrauma Service. The incumbent will support the Polytrauma Network Site (PNS), Headache Center of Excellence (HCoE). The HCoE is aligned with the PNS program. The HCoE is a specialized outpatient rehabilitation program focused on non- pharmacologic treatments to patients with headaches. Services provided include cognitive behavioral therapy, physical modalities and interventions to Veterans and Servicemembers with a history of polytrauma and traumatic brain injury. The incumbent provides psychological services including individual psychotherapy, group based psychoeducational interventions, education and support for patients' family members, coordination of other mental health services, and consultation for the Headache Center of Excellence and for the larger rehabilitation service as needed. The incumbent also works closely with Polytrauma Research and Data Team, including the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, to initiate, develop, maintain and manage research projects under the HCoE. Percentage of clinical and research responsibilities may vary based on program demands. This will be determined by the PNS Program Director.
