This Licensed Practical Nurse position is located in Nursing Service at the White River Junction, Vermont location. This position is a Full time at 40 hours per week. Please see the "What To Expect Next" area of the announcement. This position is assigned to the Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Program (SARRTP). The LPN is a member of the multi-disciplinary team and shares in the general goal of assisting veterans in the rehabilitation and transition attempts to overcome problems related to substance abuse and other mental illnesses. Primarily responsible for monitoring SARRTP patients that are admitted to the residential treatment program in building 88. Duties include but are not limited to: Supervision of patients, maintaining safety and security of the Veterans and the unit, general nursing responsibilities, administration of medications, assisting in managing crisis situations, group facilitation, program administration and program data collection. Responsible for orienting patients to building 88, the initial phases of treatment, and helping patients to continue long-term rehabilitation and transition activities, both at the Medical Center and in the community. Monitor behavior for the patients of his/her caseload and make recommendations to the appropriate treatment team based upon these observations. Administrative procedures regarding the admission, discharge and other ward procedures for the SARRTP. Perform all duties which are patient care related.
