This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more This position is a Staff Psychologist appointment located within the Mental Health Service of the Black Hills Healthcare System (BHHCS) with primary assignment in Hot Springs, SD to the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP). Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment, integrative summaries and treatment planning using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. Performs evaluations for veterans with a variety of psychological disorders including, but not limited to PTSD and substance abuse.. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including group and individual psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and brief evidence-based treatments as they relate to the missions of the DRRTP. Consults with DRRTP staff on a wide variety of patient care issues and program development and program evaluation issues. Completes treatment planning with veterans assigned to their caseload in the DRRTP and documents treatment progress in CPRS and Mental Health Suite. Provides leadership guidance and consultation to DRRTP staff. Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assist in their formulation of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients. Consults in the establishment of program monitors and outcome measurements within the DRRTP using a data-driven quality assurance processes, as needed and requested. Aid in ensuring DRRTP programs meet all CARF and JCAHO standards. Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system. If applicable, plans and oversees the completion of personal research programs, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches.
