| This announcement is being used to fill various positions at facilities throughout the VISN 8 Network. You must choose which facilities you want to be considered for. You may select one or more facility; but you must select at least one when you apply. Note that some facilities may not have current vacancies at the time of this announcement. However, applicants may be considered for future and any additional vacancies that become available in the next 90 days. The physician must possess the appropriate organizational privileges for Medicine and Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders rehabilitation. The physician will provide services in the outpatient clinic or inpatient care covering Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders veterans through a formal credentialing process. The Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders specialist and experienced in medicine directs the care and the patient rehabilitation program, with attention to physical restoration, psychosocial adjustment and setting goals. Duties includes but is not limited to: Participates in any of the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders clinics and inpatient services as directed by Chief, Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder. Provides leadership of the interdisciplinary patient care services in the clinic. Provides medical care, including care for continuing, unstable, or complex medical conditions, directly through arrangements with other physicians. In collaboration with the team, has authority and responsibility for the composition and duration of the person's served in the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders program. In collaboration with the rehabilitation team, ensures the adequacy of the individual treatment prescriptions for all persons served. Provides both management and direction for the composition and duration of the person's Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders program to ensure that it is consistent with the persons predicted outcomes. Participates in pain and spasticity management. Participates in the development and modification of the Spinal Cord System of Care program. Delivers care to the veteran requiring Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders services. Works with multiple services throughout the facility to improve outcomes and efficiencies. Collaborates on a frequent basis with nursing and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to facilitate the operation of the ward and or clinic to meet common goals. Responsible to adhere to physicians' schedules and coverage systems. Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as documentation of progress notes, reports, summaries, signatures, and consultation referrals for outpatients. Participates in JCHA, CARF activities, and any other relevant activities. Participates in quality improvement activities. Meets continuing education requirements. Has regular, direct individual contact with the persons' served that is based on their medical and rehabilitation needs and is appropriate to justify the need for the continuation of the program. Provides the physician component of decisions regarding: Assessment, Determination of predicted outcomes, and discharge. Ensures the organization adheres to the policies on ethical conduct and oversees compliance with CARF, OSHA, and other (internal and external) regulatory standards and accrediting bodies. Participates in strategic planning for Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders program both independently and as part of the Medical Center. Participates in financial planning and decision-making. Participates in the establishment of the written policies and procedures that identify the functions and responsibilities of the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders physicians providing treatment. Participates in outcomes measurement and management activities. Participates in performance improvement activities. Advocates for veteran's with activity limitations. Develops ongoing relationships with stakeholders. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with rotating tours of duty as needed. The selectee may also be required to work various shift on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs. Financial Disclosure Report: Not require. Education Debt Reduction Program May be eligible for Orlando; Tampa EDRP): This position may be for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA, pending funding and approval. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
