POSITION SUMMARY: Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens; assists pathologists and histotechs, as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested. Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for send out/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested. Qualifications:
EDUCATION Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associates degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution
EXPERIENCE Required: 3 years of laboratory experience Preferred: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred
