Baylor Scott & White Health is currently seeking a Chief Medical Officer for Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR) in Dallas, Texas. This candidate will also act as the Medical Director for its flagship rehabilitation hospital, Baylor Scott and White Institute for Rehabilitation- Dallas. Baylor Scott & White Rehab is a joint venture between Baylor Scott and White Health and Select Medical and includes four freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Texas (Dallas, Lakeway, Fort Worth and Frisco). In addition, Baylor Scott & White Rehab operates 88 outpatient therapy clinics in North and Central Texas, and also offers home health services.
Since 1981, Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation has helped people overcome serious disabilities and return to full, productive lives. This position is located in the heart of Dallas at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation which is on the campus of Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC). BUMC is consistently ranked one of the best hospitals in the US by US News and World Reports. BUMC is a 1,000 bed Level 1 Trauma facility with cutting edge cardiovascular services, neuroscience services, orthopedic surgery, full complement transplant services, and excellent medical subspecialty support. The Medical Director must be board certified in Physical Medical and Rehabilitation and a strong clinician who is able to provide inpatient or outpatient rehabilitative management of neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple trauma, acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, amputation, or other typical rehabilitation conditions. The ideal candidate will provide direction and assist in the development of BSWIR services and programs, will participate in medical education and clinical research activities and will have a demonstrated a strong track record of program development, collaboration, community engagement, clinical care, recruitment and retention, education, and leadership.
