This position requires participation in the organization's Service Excellence program with behavior that promotes excellent customer service.Position requirements include overall management of the Rehabilitation department.Oversight for staff development, scheduling, management of scheduled time off, monitoring staffing variances and effectiveness of staffing.Other responsibilities include recommending individuals for hiring, the oversight for the departments fiscal responsibilities, and the participation in the organizational Performance Improvement and LDM initiatives.Responsibilities include the sustained performance of the department to meet or exceed regulatory requirements. The Manager of Rehab Services is responsible for the supervision, development and coordination of all activities related to rehabilitation services in the Inpatient Hospital.This position reports to a Director of Rehab Services.This position requires at least 51% management and up to 49% patient care.Responsible for following the standards, policies and procedures developed for the Rehab Services department and its patients.Therapist will screen new patients as needed, perform functional assessments and plan/implement treatment programs for individual patients under orders of a qualified individual and according to the principles and practices. The Manager of Rehab Services will orient new staff, participate in Departmental and Hospital committees and activities and work with the Rehab Services support team to ensure quality care.This position will oversee all PT, PTA, OT, COTA, ST and aides.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist by the State of California
Current AHA â�� BLS
Experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is necessary
Experience with a disabled population in a hospital setting is desirable
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak.Should speak and write English fluently.Must be familiar with Joint Commission requirements and standards. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
