A person in this position functions as a Program Specialist under the direct supervision of the Operations Director. Assignments are varied in nature and include job tasks which are directed toward helping individuals with developmental disabilities live independently in the community.
Directly supervises Residential Program Supervisors and ensures that their performance is in line with Company policies and procedures and program regulations; maintains an open line of communication with subordinates which is purposeful and productive in obtaining the goals and objectives for the residential sites; disseminates all work related information to supervisors and other staff as required on a timely basis; ensures that any work related information which is to be forwarded to administrative personnel is done so as requested and in a timely manner; evaluates performance of Residential Program Supervisors and establishes objectives and goals for continuing growth in performing job duties; takes corrective action when necessary. • Oversees residential sites and ensures that all maintenance and household chores are performed according to schedule; that the site is maintained in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; that all records and charting including but not limited to household funds, individual funds, medical records, and other daily and historical logs are up to date and accurate; and that the supervisor and direct care staff act as a cohesive team to accomplish a healthy living environment for the consumers. • Ensures that staff schedules are efficient and maximize the human resource component in providing adequate coverage; responsibility includes working within budgetary limits in the scheduling of staff and approving overtime only by exception in extreme cases or emergencies. • Oversees the training of staff assigned to the homes to ensure that supervisors and subordinate staff are adequately prepared and informed of job functions and expected standards of delivery. • Conducts monthly meetings on site to coordinate services provided in the homes, to ensure that the site meets regulatory requirements, to ensure that the needs of the consumers are met, and to ensure that safety measures are in place. • Makes periodic announced and unannounced visits to the house as a measure of supporting staff and to ensure compliance with all aspects of operating residential CLA programs. • Performs related work as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of rehabilitation for the program consumers. • Thorough knowledge of behavior management, program planning, and normalization principles and practices to assist others in leading normal lives. • Thorough knowledge of the CLA regulations and community resources, facilities, and services available to consumers in enhancing the mission and philosophy of the CLA program. • Ability to train, supervise, and direct staff in the fulfillment of job responsibilities in an organized, efficient manner to obtain objectives. • Ability to work in an organized manner to accomplish job tasks in the most efficient way and to provide the direction and support to subordinate staff in the accomplishment of their job responsibilities. • Ability to work with others in the course of business in a professional, respectful manner. • Ability to develop and implement individual goal plans and program activities for the consumers.
A Master’s Degree and one year of experience working directly with developmentally disabled persons, OR • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of such experience, or an Associate Degree (60 credits) and four years of such experience.
