The Director of TBI Research is responsible for guiding and carrying out the TBI research agenda for Craig Hospital. This position will oversee and prioritize obtaining all TBI research funding and will work collaboratively with the Director of Research and/or the Medical Director of SCI Research to harmonize the overall Craig research agenda, co-leading strategic planning and long-term visioning for the research program at Craig. This position is responsible for ensuring the scientific rigor, implementation, execution and completion of all TBI research; within established protocols, budgets, resources, timeframes and regulations; resulting in the highest quality TBI research products issued by the department. This person will function independently planning and implementing TBI studies conducted at Craig Hospital for which he/she will serve as principal investigator or co-investigator. The Director of TBI Research will provide medical oversight for all TBI research being conducted or considered for implementation at Craig Hospital, if a physician. This position will participate in the preparation and dissemination of research findings on a multi-institutional, national, and international level.
Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Colorado, if a physician.
Education: M.D, D.O. degree with training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or related specialty, or Ph.D. in related field with clinical or research training.
Experience: 10 + years of progressive clinical research experience and direct supervision of other staff and/or project management. Five (5) years of experience as a principal investigator on a funded clinical research study. Associate Professor level of academic achievement or similar qualifications. Recognized leadership in the field of rehabilitation research or similar area. Established publication record in the field of rehabilitation research or similar area. Track record in receiving substantial grant funding for clinical rehabilitation research in the area of (or similar to) TBI. Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
